Rapid End-to-End Path Characterization involving Wireless Network Hops


There is now a way to get an accurate measurement of WiFi and similar wireless technologies with a technique that is fast and requires very little overhead. In fact, this method is 1,000 times faster than traditional techniques such as Speedtest and iperf with 250 times less bandwidth.  Whether the technique is used to gauge user Quality of Experience (QoE) in the present or to efficiently monitor performance over the long haul, this work at the University of Notre Dame represents a significant new capability for wireless network instrumentation.  The technology is available for licensing.
