Structure and Manufacturing of a Solid State Battery

Description:

Consumers are hungry for more battery technology; “Why can’t we have a safe, longer-lasting battery?” It might be possible with a solid state lithium battery. Researchers at the University of Notre Dame have developed low cost tape casting technology for solid electrolyte manufacturing. Low temperature sintering with the help of a glassy phase is ideal for manufacturing batteries in large quantities, reducing production cost.  The technology is available for licensing.
